Folks, I thought one or two of you might be interested in reading an article announcing the upcoming meeting of MOCAPS, the Massachusetts Old Colony Antique Phonograph Society, the local chapter of MAPS, The Michigan Antique Phonograph Society in the Enterprise Newspaper a local paper down Hanson-way. That's not me pictured by the way-I'd break the camera! ;D Regards, J.

Folks,
Well the meeting was a resounding success. Other than the fact that the newspaper didn't post the start time so we had folks arriving early, the inclement weather and a few technical glitches a great time was had by all. we had a good crowd and some fun music. Hopefully I'll have a link to a slide show about the meeting in a few days.
Regards, J.

Stan: You can watch the video here. Because it uses the Windows Media Video Adv DMO codec, if you are not using Windows Media Player to play it, you will need to use MPlayer with the additional codecs. Since you already have these installed in Ubuntu, you can easily grab and watch it by opening Terminal and entering the following: mplayer -fs ~/Desktop/MOCAPS09-28-08.wmvOr you can use the graphical user interface to open it with MPlayer, but I figure the command above is easier, since you can tab-complete pretty much all of it, or just paste it from here, and it's already in full-screen with the -fs option. Since I'd already downloaded it to figure out what codec it was using, I figured it was easier to just throw it on your desktop for you.

Great slide show, but I note that the music accompanying the slide show was not of the same vintage as the phonographs!

Thank you for posting the link to the clips.
